Eligibility requirements

  • Application possible from the 1st semester
  • Compliance with the standard period of study
  • Number of modules completed per semester
  • Consistency of achievements in the course of studies (for applicants from the 2nd semester)
  • Extracurricular commitment
  • Soft skills
  • If applicable, professional experience such as training, internships, (HiWi jobs)
  • Consideration of social, family or personal circumstances
  • Combination with other scholarships must be checked on a case-by-case basis(admissibility of the Deutschlandstipendium)
  • Funding is excluded if the student receives other material support based on talent and performance or if the average monthly funding amount exceeds €30.

Application process

Documents to be submitted:

  • A letter of motivation of no more than one page,
  • A curriculum vitae in tabular form of no more than two pages,
  • The certificate of higher education entrance qualification, in the case of foreign certificates an officially certified translation in German or English that can be transferred to the German system and converted into the German grading system,
  • If applicable, proof of a special qualification that entitles the applicant to study in the respective degree program at Clausthal University of Technology,
  • For applicants in a Master's degree program, the certificate of a first university degree and, if applicable, further certificates of achievement in accordance with the admission and selection regulations for this Master's degree program,
  • Proof of previous academic achievements,
  • If applicable, internship and work references as well as proof of special awards and prizes, special social circumstances (e.g. proof of parenthood (child's birth certificate) or proof of care responsibilities (level of care and proof that care is the main responsibility)), other knowledge and further commitment

The application portal for the academic year 25/26 opens on May 15, 2025.
Deadline for applications for the academic year 25/26 is July 31, 2025.
The deadlines for the academic year 26/27 will be announced in good time.
