Information on the accessibility of these web pages in accordance with § 9b NBGG and on the relevant contact options.

Clausthal University of Technology makes every effort to make its websites and applications accessible in accordance with legal requirements. To improve accessibility, a working group has been set up that regularly exchanges information.

This accessibility statement applies to:

1.) www.tu-clausthal.de and subdomains, but not to other websites and subdomains that are not offered via TU Clausthal's central web content management system.

These websites are largely compatible with the requirements of the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (08-2018).

2) Other uses and applications:

As Clausthal University of Technology provides a large number of online services and electronic resources from third-party providers on its websites, it has not yet been possible to fully complete the accessibility check of such online offerings.

  • The website of Clausthal University of Technology is being adapted and optimized in accordance with EU Directive 2016/2102 on the implementation of accessible internet for public sector bodies. The identified deficits and shortcomings are currently in a continuous improvement process that is being successively worked through. In the case of documents provided electronically or online, frequently used and easily adaptable documents are prioritized.

Explanation of efforts to improve digital accessibility:
www.tu-clausthal.de goes beyond the legally required level of accessibility with the following components and functions. The criteria of WCAG priority AAA are also partially fulfilled.

  • "Accessibility" menu, in which the functions for the accessible elements can be activated
  • Read-aloud application (so-called screen reader)
  • Images with text background
  • Scaling of the font sizes
  • Navigability with keyboard
  • Individual timing (stop function for slideshows)
  • Visibility of submenus up to the 2nd level
  • Links with text background describing the purpose of the respective link
  • Visible button for printing the pages

Enforcement procedure

If you have not received a satisfactory response to notifications or requests for accessibility within six weeks, you can contact the arbitration board set up by the State Commissioner for People with Disabilities in Lower Saxony.

The arbitration board according to § 9 d NBGG has the task of settling disputes between people with disabilities and public bodies of the state of Lower Saxony on the subject of accessibility in IT. The arbitration procedure is free of charge. No legal assistance is required.
