Research Assistant (m/f/d)

The Institute of Non-Metallic Materials promotes innovation, scientific research and technological development in the area of inorganic non-metallic glasses, glass-ceramics and enamels. In cooperation with the Bavarian Geo-Institute (BGI, University of Bayreuth, Germany), the research project “Rheology of nanocrystal-bearing technical and natural silicate melts” will contribute to the understanding of the properties of glass melts for glass-ceramic applications in the high temperature range, in particular the formation of nanosized heterogeneities in silicate melts and their impact on melt viscosity is of interest. The research will be conducted in close cooperation between the Clausthal University of Technology (TUC) and the BGI. A team composed of two doctoral students will study natural and technical silicate melts and their application in volcanology and glass technology, respectively. Each candidate will have the advantage of learning the strategies and methodologies from both disciplines.

The following position is now open at the Institute of Non-Metallic Materials

Research Assistant (m/f/d) in part-time employment (75%) for a period of 3 years.
