ecoprotec GmbH provides a permanent employee with the legally required expertise who performs the function of the official external data protection officer (DPO) in accordance with Art. 39 GDPR and § 7 BDSG or § 58 NDSG of Clausthal University of Technology. For times when the DPO is absent (e.g. vacation, illness), the service provider also provides a competent deputy. Mr. Andreas Tews currently acts as the external data protection officer of Clausthal University of Technology. As an external data protection officer, he is entrusted with the same tasks as an internal data protection officer, but is employed by a service provider, ecoprotec GmbH. It goes without saying that Mr. Tews is obliged to treat all concerns of TU members confidentially.
At Clausthal University of Technology, an internal employee is also entrusted with data protection management and coordinates the implementation of consulting services by the specialist departments, institutions and other parties involved at Clausthal University of Technology. This primarily involves systematically planning, organizing and documenting the processes. Ms. Natalia Rentzsch is responsible for this task.
