Information for Volunteers at the Campus Open Air
All volunteers will receive a brief orientation in advance. We will contact you in plenty of time via the email address you provided when you registered.
Here are the tasks:
Course marshals: Course marshals ensure the safety of the running route at key points and show runners the correct path. They watch for potential hazards, provide assistance in unclear situations, and quickly notify the appropriate authorities if necessary. All course marshals will meet at 1:00 PM for a brief orientation in the start/finish area of the Campus Run (Leibnizstraße, near the cafeteria).
Bear Costume: The “Bear” makes children’s eyes light up! The “Bear” wears the costume in the children’s area and during the kids’ race, greets the little guests warmly, and keeps the mood lively. Of course, regular breaks are scheduled.
Campus Game Supervisor: The supervisor of one of the Campus Games (e.g., Giant Darts, Giant Ski Race) briefly explains the rules to participants, ensures fair play, and records the results in the leaderboard.
Support Staff: Support staff provide flexible assistance wherever help is needed—whether during setup or takedown, at activity booths, or for last-minute support during the event. They are deployed on the spot as needed. Versatility and team spirit are essential here!
Hosts: The host duo guides the audience through the program together, announces program items, welcomes guests, provides organizational information, and ensures smooth transitions between individual segments. They present themselves with confidence and friendliness, keep an eye on the proceedings, and help ensure that everyone feels welcome and well-informed.
We look forward to your support! ► Here you can sign up for specific time slots.
