Corona emergency aid fund for students of TU Clausthal

Many Clausthal students are severely affected by the Corona pandemic. They are no longer able to do their side jobs and thus can no longer finance their livelihood. The Studierendenwerk OstNiedersachsen is the first point of contact for these people to advise them on alternative financing options such as BAFöG, student loans or scholarships etc. Nevertheless, many of these alternatives have been exhausted, so that a not inconsiderable number of students find themselves in a financial emergency or have already done so. In order to help quickly and unbureaucratically in such cases, an emergency fund for students has been set up at Clausthal University of Technology, which is fed exclusively from private funds and donations. The allocation of the funds is organised by the Studierendenwerk in a transparent process with the participation of the university. The allocation of funds is linked to the fulfilment of strict criteria. Furthermore, the funds only ensure a basic financial provision.

For students: Students can submit an application for funding to the Studierendenwerk. Detailed information can be found below. Students who receive more than 400 Euro BAföG, receive a scholarship or are recipients of student loans cannot be supported by the Corona Fund.

For potential sponsors: Clausthal University of Technology asks for financial support for students who cannot claim any other assistance. Smaller donations are also welcome. Following an initial appeal by the Alumni Management of TU Clausthal and the Association of Friends of TU Clausthal, numerous donations have already been received. The Association of Friends has also provided funds itself.
